1) November 1997: Founded by five mothers who set up a study group for the educational rights of AmerAsians.

2) June 1998: Ginowan City grants use of facilities for a non-accreditied free school. School moves to Oyama August 1998

3) June 1998: Accreditation efforts begin

4) January 1999: Ginowan City Office accredits 8 AASO students 

5) February 1999: Request to Prefectural Assembly to formally recognize school made by AASO

6) March 1999: AASO requests Education Minister Arima to recognize school

7) May 1999: Okinawa Prefectural Assembly addresses issue of AASO's accreditation 

8) September 1999: Okinawa Prefectural Assembly approves AASO accreditation/ Okinawa City approves 9/99.  Following year

Feb 2000: accreditiation given by Urasoe City.

9) March 2000: Ricky Agarijo graduates as first student under new accreditation system

10) March 2000: Request made to Prime Minister Obuchi during Okinawa Summit to accredit AASO as part of official Okinawa educational system

11) April 2002: Negotiations begin over new site location with Kasumigaseki

12) July 2000: Appeal made to Tokyo Bar Assn for compulsory education opportunities for AASO students

13) Dec 2000: Ginowan City agrees to fund building of new school facility.

14) Feb 2001: Okinawa Prefectural government and  Kasumigaseki agree to fund school/ Interchange with Christian Academy of Korea/ Ken Thayer admitted to public Japanese high school

15) May 2001: AASO  students visit Korean AmerAsian Christian Academy

16) August 2002: Osaka AmerAsian Friendship Camp held

17) April 2003: Move to new facilities in Shimashi

18) June 2003: The 5th anniversary of the school./ Completion of the school song.

19) April 2006: It was brought to light that one of the studentfs got a low grade due to absence. The school urged the public school and they made changes from the following school year.

20) December 2007: The 1st AASO festival (study exhibition)held.

21) June 2008: The 10th anniversary of the school.
